SiteSaver ("the extension") is designed with privacy as a core principle.
SiteSaver does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything it does happens locally in your browser and on your device.
When you choose to download a website, SiteSaver reads the content of the tab you are viewing, fetches the assets that page references (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, fonts, and media), and packages them into a ZIP file saved directly to your device via the browser's download feature.
SiteSaver collects no personal data. Specifically:
The extension stores your settings/preferences and a local history of your downloads only in your browser's local storage, on your own device, and never transmits it anywhere. You can clear this any time from the extension's History and Settings pages, or by removing the extension.
The extension requests browser permissions solely to perform its function of saving websites offline (reading the active tab, downloading files, fetching a page's assets, and observing the URLs a page requests at runtime so those assets can be saved). None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal information.
The only network requests SiteSaver makes are to fetch the assets of the website you explicitly choose to download, directly from that website's own servers, so those assets can be saved into your local ZIP. No data is sent to the developer.
